Cops Breaking Into The Wrong Home On A No Knock Raid Can’t Be Sued

The police break into the wrong home belonging to a 78 year old they throw to the ground and the court decides the police and the government are protected by “qualified immunity.”

One of the most basic things about human nature is that incentives and consequences (potential or real) impact human behavior. If there are no consequences for bad behavior, you will get more of it.  I’m not for defunding the police. (Montana had a period of time where the law was in the hands of vigilantes and theres some indication that at least one man got the wrong end of things for the basest of reasons) but I am for accountability.
