Removing police from traffic enforcement is going to be an interesting experiment. I wonder how various organizations that want tougher enforcement on Driving Under the Influence charges are going to feel about these change if it spreads outside of places like California. It could lead to more of a push to require ignition interlocks on all vehicles, and more surveillance.
